A traditional porcelain pot with cup, lid,and saucer: Holds 120 ml

Referring to the sacred trinity of heaven, earth, and man, the Trinity Gaiwan is so named for its embodiment of 3 divine concepts in one. The cover of the Gaiwan is the sky, the saucer a portrayal of earth, and the bowl a symbol of humankind itself. This three-piece brewing vessel is made entirely of fine white porcelain, lending an air of timeless elegance and refined presentation to the practice of brewing tea.

The Gaiwan is a traditional lidded bowl which serves as both teapot and teacup. It was invented during the Ming Dynasty when loose leaf brewing first came in vogue, but remains a popular brewing tool among tea aficionados as it offers more accuracy and control when brewing tea. The wide opening of the body allows the tea leaves room to open and unfurl while granting us a view of the infusion’s color. The lid does more than provide shy tea leaves a bit of privacy as they shed their inhibitions in their hot bath. Held slightly ajar, the lid strains tea leaves from a fresh infusion, while the saucer helps you lift the hot cup to your lips. Altogether, the Gaiwan helps us adjust steeping times according to our personal taste and preference, making this beautiful accessory a highly practical one as well.
